Step 2: Go to the above-mentioned websites Click on “New PAN for Indian Citizen (Form 49A)”.
Step 3: Click on “Online Application for New Pan (Form 49A)”. please select the Category of Applicant~from the drop box as Individual.
Step 4: then next taken Area Code, AO Type, Range Code, AO number can be obtained from below mentioned link “https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan2/servlet/AOSearch“
Step 5: After filling in the form, select a mode of payment as per your convenience. The options provided are demand draft, cheque, credit/ debit card and net banking.
c) General guidelines for filling the form:
(i) A single character initial is allowed in middle name field in PAN application for the individual category. (Please note that the name mentioned in proof of identity and address should match exactly with the name written in application).
(ii) Only the individual must fill Form 49A online and submit the form. In case of any errors the form can be rectified and resubmitted.
(iii) Payment can be made by the individual or his blood relations family members (parents, spouse, children)
(iv) On submission, a confirmation screen with all the data filled will be displayed. The applicant may either edit or confirm the same.
(v) Applicant should click on “Validation” followed by “Submit” button once the application is filled.
(vi) On confirmation, an acknowledgment will be displayed. The acknowledgment will contain a unique 15-digit acknowledgment number.
(vii) This number is important and must be saved for future tracking of PAN status
(viii) The applicant must affix two recent color photographs to the form. The photographs must have a white background (size 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm) and should be posted only in the space provided in the acknowledgment. The photographs should not be stapled or clipped to the acknowledgment. The clarity of image on PAN card will depend on the quality and clarity of photograph affixed on the acknowledgment.
(ix) The Signature / Left Thumb Impression of the applicant should only be within the box provided in the acknowledgment. The signature should not be on the photograph affixed on right side of the form. The application will not be accepted if there is any mark on a photograph which hinders the clear visibility of the face of the applicant.
(x) If the applicant is providing thumb impression, the same should be attested by a Magistrate or a Notary Public or a Gazetted Officer under official seal and stamp.
(xi) If applicant selects ‘copy of depository account’ as proof of identity or proof of address, it is mandatory to fill in Depository Account Details.
